Mick writes..

Gaining confidence from the (modest) success of my first album "Looking For Trouble" for my second solo album I felt I needed the music to get rockier and harder. So "Rock Me" opens with a solid lump of blues rock entitled "Cold Comfort".. (and no it's not about abusing oneself as was once put to me). "Let it Go" features the superb harp of Mark Feltham who really excels himself on the four tracks contributed to this album. The backing track went down like a dream in one take. Then there are some stage favourites such as "Shake that Boogie" and instrumentals such as "Good Friend". "Carry Me Home" features Mark once again over a meaty track powered by what Linda calls Wilgar's "Belfast Drumming"

The album was recorded just before Christmas. Once again back at our home from home Elephant Studio in Wapping we had an enjoyable time making the album, being able to relax between takes at the nearby "Prospect of Whitby" and watch the Thames flow by while enjoying a pint by the open fireplace.
"Rock Me" was again well received being seen as a progression (by most people) from the first release. A few years later it was issued on CD, and I went back to record two extra tracks for each of the Appaloosa albums. Lou play keyboards with Mick Phillips on bass and Mike Hirsh on drums.
